VISION-EASE HAS A NEW CEO JOHN WEBER has become CEO of Vision-Ease Lens. DOUG HEPPER has transitioned to the role of executive chairman after 12 years as CEO (see "One-to-One", p.6). Weber joined Vision-Ease after serving as president of the global contact lens company, CooperVision, Inc., for six years where he led all aspects of the organization, including acquisitions and business development. LARRY CLARKE MOVES UP IN SATISLOH Satisloh AG based in Bear, Switzerland, has appointed LARRY CLARKE president and chief operating offcer. His new role, based in Switzerland, began October 1, 2014 with responsibility for the distribution of Satisloh equipment worldwide as well as R&D; and production. He reports to Norbert Gorny, president and CEO of Satisloh Group. SHAMIR APPOINTS BECKER A seasoned lab executive, MARK BECKER, has rejoined Shamir Insight, Inc. as vice president of marketing and strategic partnerships. He had worked for Shamir in 2002 as vice president of sales. Prior to rejoining Shamir in July, Becker co-owned and operated Precision Optical Products laboratory in San Diego, CA. Tom Flam OPTICOTE'S PROCESS ENGINEER RETIRES After 23 years with Opticote, Inc., TOM FLAM, process engineer, retired on December 23, 2014. At Opticote, Flam developed many of the thin flm coatings that are the back bone of the compa- ny's product line. He also provided process engineering support to daily operations. "His achieve- ments will not be forgotten," said Robert Sypniewski, Opticote's president. P.O.G.'S LAB MANAGER RETIRES HOLLY FERBER retires this month after 11 years as lab manager at Precision Optical Group (P.O.G.) in Creston, IA. Bobbi Turner, a longtime P.O.G. employee, has been molded by Ferber to take her place. Co-owner Mike Tamerius commented that "Holly has been a vital part of our operation for the last 11 years.
