RUNDOWN NEWS TRANSITIONS ANNOUNCES FINALISTS Transitions Optical, Inc. has named the fnalists for its annual Transitions Awards program. 2013 Lab of the Year: Diversifed Ophthalmics, Optical Prescription Lab, and Three Rivers Optical. 2013 National Retailer of the Year: Costco Optical, LensCrafters, and Visionworks. 2013 Regional Retailer of the Year: Barnet Dulaney Perkins Eye Center, Henry Ford OptimEyes, and Northeastern Eye Institute. 2013 Eyecare Practice of the Year: Arizona Family Vision Center, Buena Vista Optical, and Clarus Optical. The fnalists will be honored during Transitions Academy January 26-29 at Disney's Contemporary Resort in Orlando, FL. NEW APPOINTMENTS Ulrich Krauss William Krueger Darius Rucker, Transitions' musical ambassador, together with Visionworks, brought free eyecare services to the students at Pearl Cohn Entertainment Magnet High School in Nashville, TN. Kristina Engelking ULRICH KRAUSS, the chief sales offcer for Carl Zeiss Vision, Inc. and a member of the company's management board, has relocated to its U.S. headquarters in San Diego, CA. He will work with Joseph Donahoe, president, North America and Zeiss' U.S. leadership team, to implement key market initiatives and support U.S. linkage to Zeiss' global organization. WILLIAM KRUEGER has become Vision-Ease Lens' new executive vice president of sales and marketing. Previously, Krueger was general manager at GOJO Industries, a company that invented Purell hand sanitizer. Before that, he spent 18 years at PPG Industries, Inc. where he was general manager of the North American Refnish Coatings division. KRISTINA ENGELKING has joined Vision-Ease as its new marketing communications specialist. She will enhance Vision-Ease's events, trade show presence, and customer education initiatives.
