In 2007, James created Icarelab's own online ordering portal to provide an easy-to-use interface for customers. In 2011, James was instrumental in setting up multiple digital lens design offerings and job routing systems. He received his MBA from the Florida Institute of Technology in 2013. NEIL TORGERSEN, National Manager of AR Coating Opera- tions, Walman, age 36. Neil is responsible for the overall operations of all non-glare coating facilities at Walman. He manages Walman's main coating lab, the Ophthalmic Service Center (OSC), which processes over 6,000 lenses per day. He oversaw the design, construction, and implementation of the OSC. The facility can accommodate 10 years of growth while maintaining a 90% one-day turnaround for customers. Neil started with Walman in 1997, working on summer breaks in the Walman Minneapolis lab. In 2011, when Walman expanded its coating facilities and opened the OSC, Neil assumed sole responsibility for managing the combined Crizal ® and ZEISS coating labs. Last year, he became National Manager of AR Coating Operations, overseeing four coating facilities in the Walman network: Toledo Optical, Rite-Style Optical, Harbor Optical, and the OSC. STEVE TULBA, Managing Director, Mondottica Ltd., age 37. Steve has been involved in the eyewear industry since 2003 when he became International Sales Manager with the UK-based eyewear company, Inspecs. Steve progressed to VP of Sales for Inspecs before moving to Clearwa- ter, FL, as President of Inspecs USA, a position he held for four years before moving back to the UK. Since 2013, he has been Managing Director of Mondottica, a global eyewear company. Steve completed his MBA in 2012 and is on the board of The Vision Council. BOBBI TURNER, Finish Depart- ment Supervisor, P.O.G. Labs, age 27. Bobbi joined P.O.G. in 2010 and manages employees in the fnish department. In addition to making sure work gets done in a timely and correct manner, Bobbi ensures machines are clean and daily calibrations are done. She insists all late jobs get out and goes through breakage to fnd ways of keeping spoilage rates down. ERICA WILSON, Marketing Director, P.O.G. Labs, age 25. Before joining P.O.G. two years ago, Erica had no optical background. She graduated from Iowa State University with a B.F.A. in Graphic Design. She coordinates the annual marketing schedules for P.O.G. and its external vendor sponsors, price list, and design. Erica is involved in all creative design for product and patient marketing, updates P.O.G.'s website and social media posts, manages in-house and vendor promotions, and offce photogra- phy. TINA WILSON, Production Super- visor, P.O.G. Labs, age 29. Tina plans and directs all lab activities and obtains the necessary resources for successful production. She is in charge of quality control and protecting equipment. In addition, Tina ensures the lab delivers products that meet all cost, quality, and quantity requirements. Tina manages production employees to help them achieve their goals in safety, environmental performance, production volume, quality service, and cost. WAYNE WOFFORD, Interna- tional Accounts Manager, Dy- namic Labs, age 29. Wayne joined Dynamic Labs in 2012 without any previous knowl- edge of the optical industry. To date, he has generated over $400,000 in sales. From day one, he notes, the owners welcomed him into their family-like atmosphere and he quickly absorbed as much as he could. "I have enjoyed developing customer relationships and learning about the forever-changing optical technologies," he says. His co-worker tells him: "Wayne, you can only work hard because you can't work soft!" At the end of a full work week Wayne says he looks back exhausted and satisfed with the work he's done. JOSH YENIS, Sourcing Manager, OptiSource International, age 28. Josh joined OptiSource in 2011 at a time when the com- pany was experi- encing a resurgence in sales and product growth. Although Josh's position originated in purchasing, he is now responsible for product development, manufacturing and distribution operations, and trade compliance. Josh sees every challenge as an opportunity and builds sustainable systems to support OptiSource's continued expansion. A graduate of Lean Six Sigma and UT McCombs' Executive Education programs, Josh is one of OptiSource's on-site product experts. He is also the creator of OptiSource's newest product, the Job Tray Cleaner, which removes dried polish from traditional and robotic-style job trays.
