RUNDOWN NEW FOR THE LAB 28 march 2015 opticallabproducts.com AUTOMATED COATER FOR THE CONVEYOR Ultra Optics Co.'s latest in- novation, the 44R, is a fully automated backside hardcoater that is designed to take work directly from a lab's conveyor system. A bar code scanner reads the work ticket and integrates it with a lab's LMS software. Once inside the 44R, a robotic arm picks and places the blocked lens into the processing portion of the machine. The lens then moves from the wash, to dry, to coat, and fnally to the cure station auto- matically. The cured lens is placed back in the tray by the robotic arm and continues down the conveyor system.
